Older Adults are Impaired by Distractors Presented During Working Memory Encoding

This preprint examines how aging affects vulnerability to distractors during working memory encoding. The study finds that older adults exhibit significantly reduced WM accuracy and increased distractor interference compared to younger adults, highlighting age-related declines in attentional control.It has been accepted into psychological research and will be published soon.
